Alida Zuluaga

Alida Zuluaga has more than 25 years of experience in the natural health industry. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts at University of Melbourne, and a post graduate Diploma of Education at Latrobe University, Alida's enquiring way led her to explore Shiatsu Therapy at Australian Shiatsu College. She established her early practise in inner city Elwood and St Kilda. There she gained experience treating mostly performance artists and new mothers with Shiatsu. A temporary absence from the Melbourne natural health environment took her to Malaysia and Thailand. Having added Reiki II, Pranic Healing, Thai Massage, Australian Bush Flower Essences, and an increased absorption in meditation and yoga, Alida returned to Melbourne to begin anew on the city fringe in beautiful Warrandyte.  A Diploma of Remedial Massage followed at East West College as yet another way to understand the human body and assist people with their health and wellbeing goals.  In 2009, after bushfires devastated nearby townships of Kinglake, Strathewen and others,  Alida sought to help the people recover with her centring and nurturing bodywork. Up until 2017, Alida spent 9 years as a registered trainer of the Australian Bush Flower Essences College Course. She has been a professional in a number of multi discipline natural health clinics, has spent 12 years as a sessional trainer at various Shiatsu and Massage Colleges in Melbourne, and has run various community based workshops in natural health as well as the work she does at Warrandyte Healing Centre.

Since 2018 Alida has been exploring yoga in more depth attending  several Yoga Teacher Training intensives (totalling over 400 hours of training) in Wholistic Hatha Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Yoga & Mindfulness and Yin Yoga. Alida has been offering yoga classes at Warrandyte Healing Centre. Alida’s yoga classes are normally held in small groups of supported mindful movement. They offer a unique synthesis of her deep knowledge of the human energy anatomy and the interplay of the physical, emotional and mental bodies with the spirit. Mindfulness meditation practise is a part of each yoga class. So much more than an exercise class!

Alida brings deep knowledge of her modalities, skills learned and honed over many years, and an intuitive presence to each treatment she gives and classes she facilitates. Each treatment is tailored to the individual needs of her clients using techniques from both a remedial massage perspective and the oriental philosophies and methods that make up Shiatsu. Alida incorporates therapeutic grade Young Living Essential Oils and/or Australian Bush Flower Essences into most treatments. These provide further tools for her nuanced response to clients’ needs, leaving each person replenished physically, emotionally and spiritually.
